Ever see that key between Ctrl and Alt, to the left of the space-bar, the one with the Windows logo on it? Have you ever wondered why it exists? Well using this key can actually unlock a few nifty tricks. For example, you can press it once to pull up the start-menu. Save yourself the reach-to-the-mouse, and type the first letter of the item you want to open, or use the arrow-keys. There are several combinations that do stuff, like:
- Win key + D = minimize everything and show desktop
- Win key + F = opens a search dialog
- Win key + E = opens Windows Explorer (I actually use this quite a bit)
- Win key + TAB = opens a special awesome window switcher (Win 7 only)
